    AFTER Alcohol-Free Magazine is the magazine for non-drinkers, the sober curious, and anyone examining their relationship with alcohol. Founder & Editor-in-chief Nicole Pietrandrea Hough created the magazine with a mission to help anyone engaged in saying goodbye to alcohol to create a fulfilled and purposeful life.  

    • The content focuses on building a beautiful life without alcohol, including personal growth, inner happiness, great AF food, drink and travel, and connection with others, plus sobriety perspectives and shared experiences.

    Dear Friend, 

    The Aisling Irish Community and Cultural Center is very pleased to invite you to our 2023 Annual Dinner Dance. Join us on Friday, September 29th, 7pm at Mulino's at Lake Isle, located at 660 White Plains Rd, Eastchester, NY to celebrate our three highly esteemed honorees. Entertainment will be provided by the popular McLean Avenue Band. This year we are delighted and honored to celebrate the outstanding community achievements of Aine Dempsey of President HD Office Solutions, Peter Doran of the Law Offices of Peter Doran, and Thomas Queenan, Owner of Nu-Way Air Conditioning & Heating.  

    Aine Dempsey grew up in Athenry, Co Galway, with her Dad Gerry, Mum Bernie and her two sisters, Niamh and Ailbhe. Aine Attended Scoil Chroi Naofa and Presentation College in Athenry before she graduated from N.U.I.G. with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in 2012. She moved to New York in May of 2013 where she quickly moved up the corporate ladder as the Chief Financial Officer for one of New York’s fastest growing construction companies, Alba Services Inc. Aine met her now husband Richie Hartnett when she moved to Woodlawn in October 2013. Aine and Richie welcomed their first child Daithi in 2016, and second child Aoife in 2021. 

    Peter Doran graduated from Law School in 1996, Peter started a private Law Practice in Yonkers and ultimately established the “Barrister’s Building” on McLean Avenue where he continues to practice today. He has continued to practice law for 27 years, but made a major turn in his career path in 2007 when he decided to join the Yonkers Fire Department to became a career firefighter. He was promoted to Fire Lieutenant in 2014 and was recently promoted to Fire Captain in 2022. 

    Thomas Queenan hails from Enniscrone, Co .Sligo. He immigrated to New York in 1987. Thomas has been involved with the Aisling Irish Community Center since its move to McLean Avenue in 1996. In 1994 he formed Nu-Way Heating & Cooling Inc. and prior to that had worked with a number of large HVAC contractors in New York City. Thomas lives in Yonkers with his wife Carmel and they are blessed with three children and one grandchild. The family is a member of the Annunciation Parish, Yonkers. 


    Since its founding, the Aisling Irish Community and Cultural Center has been a steadfast resource for Irish, and Irish American diaspora in Yonkers, Woodlawn and the greater New York area. Thanks to your unwavering support, we have experienced an incredible year of growth, enabling us to expand our services even further. With your help we have achieved so much in the year including:   

    Senior activities are provided 5 days a week, including hot lunches every Tuesday, serving an average of 4,420 meals per year 


    Meals delivered to 28 homebound seniors on Wednesdays, totaling over 896 meals delivered annually


    14,300 meals delivered to people without homes in New York City every year

      
    Introduced free career assistance, a new cultural series, and two rounds of Leadership for Life program


    Leadership for Life program included a leadership conference in Ireland for 17 students this summer 


    Nearly 15,000 individuals benefit from our services every year
