Guest Speaker: Elizabeth Mannion - Founder, Dreaming in Irish

Elizabeth Mannion joins us to discuss creative entrepreneurialism, a topic near-and-dear to her professionally hyphenated heart. Beth’s teaching, lecturing, and research focuses on drama and an interdisciplinary range of Irish studies, from revivalist drama to contemporary crime fiction. She is the author of The Urban Plays of the Early Abbey Theatre, editor of The Contemporary Irish Detective Novel, and co-editor of the forthcoming Guilt Rules All: Irish Mystery, Detective, and Crime Fiction.

Beth combines her scholarly pursuits with Dreaming in Irish, a publishing and consulting firm. In addition to editing and indexing services, Dreaming in Irish is home to the Kate Doyle cozy tales. Copies of Dreaming in Irish and Traces of Irish will be available for sale at the breakfast.

Beth will be discussing taking professional leaps, combining the day job with the dream, and the joy of a mid-life reboot. We’re likely to bend her ear a bit about Irish crime writing too.
