This month, we have a special fireside chat featuring two of our members: interior designer and Rhyme Studio founder Claire McGovern in conversation with IBO First VP Seán O'Dowd.
About Claire and Rhyme Studio
Rhyme founder Claire McGovern was introduced to architecture, art and design at an early age. Born and educated in Dublin, she has worked in California and New York where varied positions with a museum, gallery and interior design firm led initially to the launch of her own art and design gallery. She has since worked variously as an interior designer, curator and design business director. In 2018 she fulfilled a long term objective of realizing her own design collection made entirely by hand in rural Ireland.
On a mission to breathe unique form, color and sustainable craftsmanship into the world of rug design, Rhyme Rugs are tufted by hand using traditionally spun Irish wool and non toxic dyes. The wool is sourced from Galway sheep farms, processed by a historic 300 year old woolen mill and hand dyed by a 200 year old woolen mill. The yarns are then meticulously tufted by hand to exact Rhyme specifications.
